Nick Knize, the Amazon engineer who created AWS OpenSearch, left his role to start Lucenia.
He then teamed up with Matt Joseph, an Amazon leader and Y Combinator alum.
Like AWS OpenSearch and Elasticsearch, Lucenia is a search engine built on Apache Lucene. What makes Lucenia unique is the advanced cost controls it provides to customers to help them save on data storage and compute.
